Equine-Assisted Learning Emotional Intelligence Workshops
The EAL Emotional Intelligence program is an experiential pathway into deeper self-understanding. It’s designed to help you recognise the patterns, reactions and emotional habits you’ve carried — often without realising it.
Rather than learning through theory alone, the work unfolds through somatic experiences with horses who respond to the non-verbal signals that arise through your body language, emotional state and internal tension. Their responses often bring awareness to patterns you may not consciously recognise.
The learning is offered through a series of standalone workshops and private 1:1 sessions. You’re welcome to participate in a single workshop, several workshops, or explore the work more fully over time, depending on your interests and personal development goals.
The program currently offers the following opportunities for exploration:

Private sessions are also available for those who wish to explore personal themes in greater depth.
All workshops can be attended independently and many participants choose to return over time as their awareness and emotional capacity deepen.
If you’re wondering where to begin, you’re invited to complete the Readiness Questionnaire. It offers a simple way to reflect on where you are right now and helps identify the most supportive entry point into the experience.
This is personal transformation that doesn’t require words — just presence, patience and permission.
EAL Private 1:1 Sessions
Private sessions offer a safe, personalised space for focused emotional development.
For some people, the Readiness Questionnaire may suggest that beginning with individual sessions will provide a supportive foundation before entering a group workshop environment. These sessions support grounding, emotional regulation, boundary awareness and confidence in a paced and supportive way.
For others, 1:1 sessions may simply be the preferred format — whether to explore a specific professional or personal challenge, deepen insight between workshops, or engage with this work in a more private setting.
Each 90-minute session provides structured yet spacious facilitation, allowing emotional patterns, responses under pressure and embodied awareness to be explored in real time.
Sessions are held on weekday mornings between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Limited weekend appointments are available at an adjusted rate.
EAL Half-Day Themed Workshops
If instead you’re seeking support around a specific challenge or moment in your life, the shorter half-day workshops may be a good fit. There are seven workshops to choose from, each exploring a different theme.
These workshops bring together people navigating a similar area of growth and provide a clear focal point, gentle peer insight and a focused space to explore the work.
EAL Full-Day Foundation Workshop
If you’re seeking a deeper understanding, the foundation workshop – Emotional Intelligence From A Mirrored Perspective – is a full-day workshop inviting you to pause, breathe and reconnect with the part of you that may have gone quiet in the busyness of life. Here, you step into a space where nothing is expected of you — except honesty.
This is a day of deep personal exploration. At times it can feel tender or confronting as you come face to face with patterns, habits or protective responses you may not usually notice in yourself.
In this work, the “mirror” is not the horse’s behaviour but what you may begin to see about your own thoughts, assumptions and projections through the interaction. We move slowly and with care and you’ll be gently invited to look inward with courage and honesty as new awareness begins to emerge.
Throughout the day, you’ll work in the classroom and in the paddock with the herd as you gain:
- A deep sense of grounding and personal presence
- Gentle insights into old emotional habits and patterns
- Practical, embodied strategies for calming your mind and body when stressed
- A clearer understanding of how you show up in relationships
- A renewed connection to your inner strength and truth
You leave with greater clarity, steadiness and self-trust — not because someone taught it to you but because you experienced it for yourself.
This workshop isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about meeting yourself with honesty, kindness and a little more understanding than before.
EAL Half-Day Workshops
If you’re seeking support around a common issue or life moment, the shorter half-day workshops may be a good fit. They bring together others navigating a similar theme, offering the benefit of shared experience, gentle peer insight and a focused way to engage with the work before choosing the full-day workshop or whole EAL program.
1 - The Calm State
Discover what calms or activates your nervous system and learn how to find and maintain inner steadiness, even when life becomes loud.
2 - Awareness
Awareness is key to safety, choice and growth. Learn to notice what you’re feeling, thinking and why — gently, without judgment.
3 - Boundaries
Explore the difference between protection, avoidance and healthy openness. Learn how to recognise, set and communicate personal space, touch and verbal boundaries.
4 - Healthy Relationships
Understand how your presence influences connection and harmony. Build real connections and handle difference with respect.
5 - Mindful communication
Learn how your energy and intention shape every interaction. Master the art of expressing your thoughts and emotions with clarity, confidence and accountability.
6 - Feelings
Build the capacity to sit with your body’s sensations safely, without being overwhelmed.
7 - Facing Life’s Challenges
Develop resilience that feels grounded, honest and real and build the skills needed to manage when life throws us challenges.
Each workshop is experiential, spacious and guided with steady support. You choose your pace and your path.

Workshops are intentionally limited to a maximum of six participants to ensure a contained, personalised and safe learning environment — for both participants and horses.

Enrolment is available throughout the April–November season, subject to availability within the small group limit. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
Complete Journey
Some people prefer a steadier, more continuous rhythm of development throughout the year. The Complete Journey offers this extended pathway and includes:
- Eight standalone workshops (one full-day and seven half-days)
- Three 1:1 Private Sessions for personalised integration
This option allows the work to unfold progressively, with space between sessions for reflection, application and embodied integration.

A structured payment option is available. Places remain limited due to the intentionally small group size.
Booking & Cancellation
Places are confirmed upon receipt of full payment and are not held without payment.
A minimum of three participants is required for each workshop to proceed. If this number is not reached, participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
Due to the limited group size, cancellations within 7 days of a workshop are non-refundable. Earlier cancellations may be transferred to another date within the 2026 season, subject to availability.
