About Me

About Me

Theresa Hanich

Founder and Facilitator

I’ve spent more than 30 years exploring what it truly means to be human – not just through study and formal training but through the everyday moments when emotions, patterns and reactions arise without warning.

My background spans corporate business, designing and delivering training and induction programs, facilitating behavioural-change road safety programs and equine assisted personal development. Yet the heart of my work has always been the same: helping people find clarity, calm and confidence by reconnecting with who they genuinely are.

Horses have been my greatest teachers. They’ve shaped me in ways words can only partially describe. They’ve taught me what honesty feels like in the body, how presence settles the mind and how much strength exists in quiet authenticity. I’m endlessly fascinated by them: their subtle cues, their emotional transparency, their ability to sense what we hide even from ourselves. Sitting in the paddock watching them graze is one of the places I feel most at home.

As a person, I feel deeply. I’m an extroverted introvert — someone who can lead with clarity and strength, yet also needs stillness, solitude and the grounding presence of nature to recharge. Compassion and acceptance come naturally to me and people often say that they feel heard, seen and understood without needing to explain much. I hold space with steadiness, gentleness and a no-nonsense warmth that encourages honesty without pressure.

Outside of my work, my life is grounded and wholehearted: time with my herd, family and friends; watching the discipline and creativity of gymnastics; the thrill of motorsports; and the occasional ride on my Ducati when I feel the need for open air.

My approach at Equiman Leadership isn’t to fix or analyse you. It’s to walk beside you — with presence and respect — while you meet yourself with greater clarity, calm and truth. Together with the herd, we invite you into grounded self-awareness, genuine emotional steadiness and a kinder relationship with yourself.

I’ve spent more than 30 years exploring what it truly means to understand myself — not just through study or formal training, but through the everyday moments when emotions, patterns and reactions rise without warning.

My background spans corporate business, behavioural-change, emotional intelligence facilitation, and equine-assisted learning. Yet the heart of my work has always been the same: helping people find clarity, calm and confidence by reconnecting with who they genuinely are.

Horses have been my greatest teachers. They’ve shaped me in ways words can only partially describe. They’ve taught me what honesty feels like in the body, how presence settles the mind, and how much strength exists in quiet humility. Horses reflect a kind of truth we often struggle to see in ourselves — gently, without judgment, and always in the present moment.

I’m endlessly fascinated by them: their subtle cues, their emotional transparency, their ability to sense what we hide even from ourselves. Sitting in the paddock watching them graze is one of the places I feel most at home.
